Step-by-step procedures are given for residential equipment installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The first units cover the areas of required local and national codes and ordinances in terms of safety (proper operation of equipment); tools for installing and maintaining equipment including refrigerant tubing procedures; explanations and applications of basic electrical terms, symbols, wire characteristics, and sizing; control checkout and troubleshooting; and preparations for installation. Later units give the actual procedures for installing central residential cooling, heating, and heating and cooling (heat pump) systems.
