Course Overview

Research consistently shows that pain is often undertreated, with only 25% of patients achieving adequate relief. This course addresses the need for a more informed, effective approach to pain management, tackling the risks of inappropriate pain-relieving techniques.

Held each spring in Boston, Evaluation and Treating Pain is a live course that reviews both the science and the latest advances in the field of pain medicine. Faculty includes experts from anesthesiology, neurology, psychiatry, psychology, internal medicine, physical rehabilitation, orthopedic surgery, interventional radiology, and neurosurgery.

This course will help participants:

• Diagnose and treat common pain problems

• Explore a variety of treatment options for chronic pain, acute pain, and cancer-related pain

• Understand the role of opioids and their appropriate use in pain management
