Surgery Vade Mecum: A Guide For General Surgery Residency & The Oral Board Exam (Azw3+epub+converted pdf)

By Dr. Sujit Vijay Sakpal, Dr. Steven Ray Donahue, Dr. Joseph Robert Imbus, Dr. Cody Charles Ness
The American Board of Surgery’s Certifying Examination (ABS-CE), also known as the Oral Boards, is the final step toward board certification following general surgery residency training. The ABS believes that the best preparation for the ABS-CE is to “simulate and practice” patient scenarios similar to the ones presented during the examinations. However, there is an absence of a thorough study guide for examinees of this crucial examination. Surgery Vade Mecum is a comprehensive, patient case-based guide for students and residents of general surgery to refresh their medical knowledge and integrate clinical skills while caring for patients on the ward or intensive care unit. The author, Dr. Sujit Vijay Sakpal, has compiled this publication with over 140 patient-scenarios detailing a variety of surgical diagnoses. Each patient case-based scenario elaborately guides the diagnostic work-up and demonstrates strategic implementation of therapeutic options including surgical techniques. Exhibition of simplified flowcharts, tables and sketched illustrations through the text eases comprehension of complex medical diagnoses and surgical treatments. 100+ practice cases included in the last chapter of the first edition of Surgery Vade Mecum are for the examinees to test their knowledge and master the skill of successfully taking the Oral Boards.
